Bally / Midway Satan's Hollow

This is my favorite game of all my games.  It is the one game that will never leave my collection.  I tell the following story every time someone new visits my arcade.  When I was a kid (many moons ago) my parents bowled in a weekly league. I would tag along every Wednesday evening to the Hidenwood Lanes in Newport News, VA where I was given nearly $3 each week to last the 2-3 hours of my parents league matches.  At the bowling alley they had a decent collection of  vids and a few pins (of which I cannot remember the titles).  Some of the titles they had over the 3-4 years I came here on Wednesday night they had these games (all that I can remember).

Karate Champ, Kung Fu Master, Super Pac-Man, Pole Position UR, Q*bert, Joust, and Satan's Hollow

Over time I found that I could stretch my $3 by playing Satan's Hollow as I could last a lot longer on a quarter than I could on any other game at that given time.  Often I would get on the high score table so I learned to love that game.  It's funny because in my collection I also have the Q*bert and Joust.  I have all 3 right next to each other sitting just how they were at that bowling alley.

I picked Satan up in Richmond, Va for $200 and I have done very little work to it besides replacing the CPO, Joystick plastic and shield, put in new bulbs and 2 new ballets (all these items worked).  I wanted to bullet proof it for the future.  After looking at the photos i remember most of the metal was rusted.  It was on location where a pool was nearby and indoors.  I found perfect replacement security bolts on Amazon of all places for the bezel bolts.  I still have a lot of extra ones because I purchased an entire box.  Later I replaced the slightly;y faded marquee with a TOG version which I was the beta tester for his new ink jet order for Satan's Hollow.  That thing looks fantastic.

We picked the game up on our way home from a family trip to Washington, D.C. roughly near August 10, 2012.  I used VASP to find someone that was selling anywhere on the East Coast.  I used to live in Richmond for a few years so we stopped by to visit friends on our way back to SC.

My future plans for it are to update the power brick mega caps, install a proper HSS mod (battery upgrade), rebuild the linear power supply to help reduce the hum sound, and order the tracing kit from Szabos so I can repaint the cabinet as the front is much lighter than the sides.
